The value of assessment based certification
If you are seeking Scrum certification we recommend the industry recognised assessments from the Scrum experts Scrum.org. These assessments are grounded in the Scrum Body of Knowledge, the Scrum Guide™.
The value of certification is intimately tied to the demonstration of knowledge needed to achieve it. Scrum.org certification requires a minimum score for an online assessment. This gives Scrum.org certification teeth and ensures that it has true value in the marketplace.
To be effective, Scrum Masters need to have a rock-solid understanding of the practices and values of Scrum. The Professional Scrum Master (PSM1) assessment allows attendees to validate their understanding of the Scrum practices and values, and how they would respond to situations that challenge them.
These assessments have been developed by Scrum thought leaders with formal input from a wide range of industry experts, and then enhanced with input from the larger Scrum community. They are monitored on an ongoing basis to ensure their continued integrity and relevance.
Microsoft® uses the PSM I assessment to validate knowledge as part of its Silver and Gold Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) competencies.
