Professional Groups - PRINCE2® Users Group
About the Group
This Group was formed in 2009 to help support those adopting Prince 2 in the Wellington Region. In August 2012, an Auckland user group was established, with the first meeting successfully held in September 2012. The group is run on a volunteer basis with a steering committee. You don't need to pay to join or to come along and we rely on kind sponsors to provide venue's and refreshments. We aim to meet around 8 times a year and pick different days (so as not to disadvantage those with a commitment on a specific day). Further information on the group's history and objectives is on the PRINCE2 Users Group Website. (See about the user group page and note that this website is not actively maintained).
Scope of Group
Covers PRINCE2 and all of the British methods such as MSP, BBC etc. In the early days the group did a lot on the subject of PRINCE2 but now covers a wide range of topics. We haven't yet come up with a better name so we have stuck with PRINCE2 (suggestions please).
Paul is on the organising committee for the Wellington group and has been since the groups inception (around 5 years ago). Paul, Pete, Lewis and Geoff have all spoken to the group on their respective expertise areas.

Linkage to Professional Development
PRINCE2 i.e. Project Management
PRINCE2 started as the core subject but it has subsequently expanded to a range of other topics. The majority will be applicable to PRINCE2 and project in general.
MSP i.e. Programme Management
While we have in the past we have not run a specific topic on MSP for some time. Most of our topics are however, relevant to MSP.
Better Business Cases (BBC)
In the past we have had specific sessions on BBC but again a number of our topics are relevant to this subject and subsequent translation of the ideas into Projects and Programmes

Location: KPMG Level 9, 10 Customhouse Quay, Wellington (map)
