PRINCE2® Principles, Themes and Processes
PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Training
Overview
Over the past 2 decades PRINCE2® (PRojects IN Controlled Environments version 2) has been developed by the UK Government and internationally as the best practice project management method. PRINCE2 provides you with a complete set end to end process and the latest version recognises scaling for the needs of your project or organisation.
Training is based upon "Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 - 2017 Edition" manual. This is an easy to read guide which will become your future project management reference.
PRINCE2 is based on Principles (project management truths), Themes (the things you focus on) and Processes (project steps - see the diagram above and to find out more please move to our PRINCE2 Principles, Themes and Processes page). We take you through these to give you a complete picture of the project management process. PRINCE2 is becoming the de-facto standard in New Zealand and Australia.

Course Components
The course is broken into two components. PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE 2 Practitioner. The Foundation course gives you a complete overview of the method and passing the exam will give you the Foundation qualification. The Practitioner course gives you a more indepth application of the method and upon passing the exam you can call yourself a "PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner". For more information on this decision please click on Which course for me.
Course timing
The Foundation course is 3 days long with Practitioner being another 2 days. The certification body, APMG, requires you pass the Foundation exam before you can sit Practitioner. The good news is that we have very high rates of 99% for Foundation and 90% for Practitioner. This is much higher than the industry average and to learn more about this please click on the Pass rates and certification page.
The other good news is that if you are not ready for Practitioner you can complete Foundation now and Practitioner at some later stage. You can also book Foundation one month and come back and do Practitioner another. To learn more about the relative merits of this click on All at once or split.
There are also an option to recognise prior learning. Please click on the Prior learning link for more details.

Foundation Structure and Content
Foundation Structure
Once you register for the course you are sent the “Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 2017 Edition” manual and pre-course exercises. At least 10 hours work prior to the course is highly recommended. This pre-course work is one of the key reasons for or high success rates.
The Foundation component gives you the full PRINCE2 curriculum and is delivered through presentations, discussions, exercises and exam practice. The course is intensive, running from 8:30 to 5:00 with a recommended additional 2 hours of exam practice each evening.
As outlined above the course consists of presentations, discussions, small group exercises. We also have our own exam style questions and there are two sample exams supplied by APMG. We also have crosswords for those that like these along with an extensive range of templates and exemplars. We provide you with copies of all the course material and quick reference guides. The exercises are scenario based which not only prepares you for the the exam but also real world application of PRINCE2. For more information on what is included please click on Best practice courseware.

Practitioner Structure and Content
Practitioner Structure
You will be given the Practitioner courseware at the end of the Foundation course or upon registration (if you have already completed Foundation). You can then get straight onto practising the APMG sample exam, which is homework for the first night.
While other providers just focus on passing the exam we have an equal focus on applying PRINCE2. To do this we have both exam practice and scenario based exercises with the complexity and nuances inherent in real life projects (so no rote answers). The first day focuses on on the scenario and you work through a number of exercises. This is done in small groups and as a whole class.
Towards the end of the first day we start to focus on the exam. We cover all of the question types and set candidates up for over night exam practice. At the beginning of the second day we go through queries and clarifications from the previous nights work. The remainder of the second morning is both individual and group exam practice. For more information on what is included please click on Best practice courseware.

High quality approach
We have a very high quality approach which focuses not only on passing the exams but also on applying PRINCE2 and MSP after course completion. As Senior Trainer I use many practical examples from my 20 years of experience as a hands-on project and programme manager and adjust the course delivery to meet the needs of the attendees. Along with being a highly experienced Project and Programme Manager I have an active consulting and coaching practice which allows me to be current with real life needs. And as mentioned above I have very high pass rates.

There for you
We have an approach which supports you both before, during and after the course. We offer support before the course on any queries you might have. Our flexible delivery style allows the course to address your real life issues.
Focus on pre-course work
The feedback we have received to date is that Project Results has the strongest focus on pre-course work. As soon as participants register they receive the manual and pre-course exercises. They also get regular encouragements to study and support.
This focus allows our participants to be well prepared for the course, come out with a greater understanding and gives well above average pass rates.
