MSP® (Managing Successful Programmes) OverviewMSP was developed by the UK government with the ownership now with AXELOS. This is the same group who developed the widely accepted PRINCE2® project management method.
For some time now Project Managers have understood the need for formal qualifications and the uptake of the PRINCE2 and PMBoK® certifications has been a reflection of this. There is now a recognition that Programme Management is a separate discipline and the MSP qualification specifically addresses this. |

There are a number of key differences between projects and programmes which MSP addresses. These key programme differences are:-
- Driven by a vision of the 'end state' rather than specific deliverables.
- Flexible rather than defined path.
- Focus of changes to business capability.
